Microsoft Windows Installer 4.5

I googled it and I’m getting 2, i.e. version 3.1 and version 4.5, please help. Secondly I don’t want to download it from Microsoft because they then keep sending updates.
The latest version is windows installer 4.5. You can download it directly from Microsoft using this URL (you won’t receive any more updates and it wont check if your Windows is genuine):

Read the instruction to check the version you need to download. Example: for Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows XP Service Pack 3 (32-bit platforms) you must download x86 Platform: WindowsXP-KB942288-v3-x86.exe.
